Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Ideal compensators for LCD anguler dependence improvement are determined. These have a negative △n value and have a structure similar to a liquid crystal director profile. Two compensator configurations are available to transmissive LCDs and another configuration to reflective LCDs. From numerical simulation results in the transmissive normally-white TN case, this ideal compensator can solve the anguler dependence of LCD dark state. However, the compensator cannot clear the anguler dependence of LCD bright state |
