Characterization of Vanadyl-Phthalocyanine Thin Film Grown on KBr and Muscovite Substrates by Molecular Beam Epitaxy

Abstract(in English) In this paper, nonlinear optical thin films were produced on KBr by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE).The orientation and alignment of vanadyl-phthalocyanine (VOPc) molecules and the conditions to produce a large crystal with epitaxial growth have been investigated. The orientation and alignment of VOPc molecules in a thin film produced by a MBE method was easily controlled and its film had large 2nd and 3rd large nonlinear optical constants. VOPc thin films produced by the MBE method were studied by X-ray diffraction, optical absorption spectra in visible and infrared regions, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. The VOPc thin film evaporated on KBr under a certain producing condition was epitaxially grown, The size of epitaxially grown film was 2×2×0.5μm under an optimum condition.
