Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Electroluminescent (EL) properties are described for multilayer organic light emitting diodes (LEDs) utilizing poly(methylphenylsilane) (PMPS) as a hole transporting layer (HTL) and polysilane-based single layer LEDs. In multilayer LEDs consisting of PMPS (HTL)/emitting layer (EML)/electron transporting layer (ETL), injected electrons are blocked at the PMPS/EML interface, and the recombination zone of charge carriers extends over the EML and ETL. We also describe observation of EL from triplet excited state molecules from multilayer LEDs at low temperatures. Furthermore, the EL characteristics and EL emission mechanism of single layer LEDs made from PMPS or poly(di-n-hexylsilane) are described.
