Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Poly (bithienylene methine) derivatives (PBTHBQ), which contain alternating aromatic and quinoid thiophene rings in their main chain, are known as a small-bandgap conducting polymer. PBTHBQ, obtained from precursor polymer PBTHB by oxidative dehydrogenation with DDQ, have an optical absorption edge at about 1.4eV, while the bandgap(Eg) of PBTHBQ was evaluated to be about 2.6eV from the short-circuit photocurrent spectrum. The optical and electrochemical properties of PBTHBQ and PBTHB, such as cyclic voltammogram and in situ optical absorption spectra, have been investigated. From these experimental results, electronic energy structures of PBTHBQ and PBTHB were estimated.
