Reflective Type of Color LCD using SSFLCDs

Abstract(in English) Improvement of the screen brightness was investigated by using a reflective type of direct driven SSFLCD with a single polarizer. We found that wavelength dependence of retardation: Δ nd of the SSFLC cell has a significant influence on the substantial contrast ratio of the cell in terms of the reflective type of color display.Optimization of the wavelength dependence of Δ nd provides us a good contrast ratio reflective type of SSFLCD.
