Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we prepared organic light-emitting-diodes (LEDs) with the aluminumquinoline (Alq3) emission layer doped with a squarylium (Sq) dye and discussed their electroluminescence (EL) and electrical properties. The organic >14mol% Sq-doped LEDs had only the EL from Sq without the EL from Alq3. Although the Sq molecules act as trap site in Alq3 molecules, it act as hopping site above 7mol%. Even if Al-Li alloy with lower work function than Al is used as the cathode, EL efficiency of the Sq-doped Alq3 LED was not improved in spite of that of undoped Alq3 LED enhanced 2~3 times. Therefore, it was found that the EL mechanism of Sq cannot be explained by both simple energy transfer and carrier trap.
