Abstract(in English) | Recently, much effort has been made to study the technique which controls the orientation of liquid crystal in response to the structural change of azobenzene molecules on a substrate by photo-isomerization. However, the detail on the transient behavior of orientational change of liquid crystal molecules as well as the surface molecules is unclean. In this study, we fabricated command surface cells using azobenzene monolayer deposited by the LB technique and liquid crystals with negative dielectric anisotropy (DON-103). We investigated the transient behavior of LC cells by measuring the transmission intensity and capacitance of these cells. |
