Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes how to generate compact hardware for C programs. This system translates C programs into finite state machines and then generates processor descriptions in VHDL. Supporting loop structures and arrays is the major feature of the C language used in this research. This research automatically generates hardware based on finite state machines for problems such as sorting and smoothing of images, and then compares the speedups with a RISC processor.
