Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a method for hardware-software codesign using SystemC and a high-level synthesis tool, Bach. Today, circuit in LSI is complicatcd, and a term of design is reduced. Thus, it is very important to make efficient methodology of LSI design. A designer describes hardware and software model with SystemC. Software-hardware interface class encapsulate SW/HW communication, which accelerates prototyping of System LSI. An untimed hardware model with SystemC is converted to a description synthsizable with BachC. And Bach Compiler synthesize it. We apply it to a JPEG Encoder. We design a JPEG Encoder with SystemC. The DCT block is synthesized to RTL through Bach. As the result, we can obtain a circuit from the proposed model which area is almost same with that from a hand-coded Verilog-RTL model.
