Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A new design method of signal word decomposed filters is proposed. Transition-band characteristics, which were not specified in the previous design nethod, are now taken into consideration, to widen the application of signal word decomposed filters. The design starts from the least significant subfilter. More significant subfilter is designed so as to minimize the output error in the whole frequency range. In this case the output errors of less significant subfilters are taken into account and compersated. The designed filters are evaluated using actual music signals of 16bit wordlength. For signal word decomposed filters designed to have almost the same output S/N ratio as conventional linear FIR filters, computational complexity is 30% less.
