Abstract(in English) A Ka-band meteorological Doppler radar was jointly developed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Kyoto University for the experimental observations of fog. Field tests ware conducted on the coast of Kushiro for the purpose of constructing fog detection and prediction techniques. We show that fog detection algorithm based on a criterion which indicates the status of bad visibility works well.
