Realization of Requested Altitude on the Oceanic Route

Abstract(in English) Long separation is required on the oceanic route compared with that in the radar coverage. Tokyo Air Traffic Control Center keeps the separation between aircraft, which fly to the oceanic route through Japan. It is desirable to fly on economical altitude without delay. However, the disadvantages such as the altitude changing and the departure clearance delay tend to concentrate on the aircraft that depart from the airport in Japan. In this study, pre-flight coordination is considered to share those disadvantages out with aircraft evenly. The simulations of the pre-flight coordination and departure clearance were conducted with air traffic controllers' participation. This paper presents consideration about the released altitude compared with the requested altitude on the oceanic route in the Tokyo Flight Information Region.
