| Abstract(in English) | An earth observation program, Earth Cloud Aerosol Radiation Explore (EarthCARE) Mission aiming at measurement of clouds, aerosol and radiation budget using co-onboard cloud profiling radar and lidar, has been in progress under collaboration between Europe and Japan. This mission is significant in its obiective tackling the cloud-aerosol issue, the key issue in understanding global warming. Some characteristics and items for development are described about the cloud profiling radar which is to be developed in Japan. In addition, necessary activities of preparatory data collection and algorithm development for advancing the satellite program being carried out with ground-based and airborne observation systems are explained. |
