Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A Ka-band meteorological Doppler radar was jointly developed by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Kyoto University for the experimental observations of fog. Field tests ware conducted at Beppu-Bay Service Area for the purpose of constructing fog detection and prediction techniques. From the results of data analysis, we derive a criterion which indicates the status of bad visibility caused by fog. We also show that fog detection algorithm based on this criterion works well.
