Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The correlation signals of the coherent, quasi-coherent and incoherent backscatterings from clouds have been analytically calculated from the unified formalism based on the Eulerian description for a space/air borne Doppler radar. As concerns the Fraunhofer region, the Doppler correlation function of the incoherent scattering was proven to be applied to the quasi-coherent scattering despite of the difference in scattering properties. The spectral broadening due to the horizontal velocity of clouds including a flight velocity and due to wind shears was also calculated. Since the coupling of these two effects is substantial, the conventional estimation was found not to be adapted. The re-estimation of cross-sections for these scatterings and the study of coherent scattering were also performed.
