Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A method of beam-pattern measurement for large paraboloidal antennas is proposed, where beacon waves of satellite-based mobile communication system are used. This method has advantages in measurements at arbitrary elevation angles without the motion of antennas around the elevation axis. The performance of the receiver installed in the measurement system and the total time required in the measurement are evaluated with a computer simulation using the orbital elements of 'Globalstar'. We find the time resolution of the receiver is required 0.1 second or less and the measurement is completed within one hour. The HPBW of a small diameter antenna estimated by the proposed method agree with that of the theoretical calculation within measurement errors. In this paper, a basic principle of this method, results of the computer simulation and the measurement using a small diameter antenna are described.
