A Comparison of Oceanic Air Traffic Flow Management Method

Abstract(in English) FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) introduced the Track Advisory (TA) for westbound traffic since FY 1994. Almost all westbound traffic in FAA is departure from U.S.A., however, the half of the eastbound passing TOKYO-FIR (Flight Information Region) is overflight from foreign country. Suppose that the TA in FAA is introduced for eastbound, it is necessary to discuss overflight management additionally. TA method has been considering in this study. TA prior an economical flight altitude and TA prior a scheduled departure time were compared with the case without TA. Its showed that TA prior a scheduled departure time makes short delay and enable to fly at more economic altitude than the case without TA. This paper presents an example of TA algorithm and simulation results.
