Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed the Airport Surface Surveillance System (ASSS) to enhance safety and efficiency of traffic control on the airport surface. The ASSS is capable of detecting aircraft on the airport surface using Airport Surface Detection Equipment (ASDE), and displays detected aircraft as graphical symbols on the screen together with a call-sign, aircraft type, and so on. The system, however, requires identification information on the departure aircraft to be given explicitly, while is capable of identification the arrivals automatically. In the report, we will describe the identification technique to identify the departure aircraft using phased array antenna and multu-lateration method. The technique could provide the identification information although in the severe multipath environment at the airport surface. The experimental results at Sendai Airport, Japan, will also shown.
