Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Communications Research Laboratory has proposed to launch the Gigabit Communications Technology Satellite (GCTS) to develop technologies for very high data rate satellite network which will be seamlessly connected to terrestrial HDR networks. CRL has been developing a networking model and key technologies for the GCTS since 1995, such as Ka-band active phased array antenna, on-board ATM baseband switch and on-board modems. This paper describes the development status of the communication payload of the GCTS.
