A method of order decision of multiple aperture mapdrift with entropy

Abstract(in English) In a SAR(synthetic aperture radar) image formation algorithm, we suppose that radar platform moves at the planned constant velocity. But, if the velocity of platform is not constant, errors arise in phase of received signal and it degrades azimuth resolution of formed image. So phase compensation algorithm, for example multiple aperture mapdrift(MAM), is necessary. In the MAM, a n-th order polynomial expression is supposed as phase error, but it is not shown how to decide the order "n". So we proposed a method to decide the order of MAM by entropy of the image. By the computer simulation using a point target, we have shown that the azimuth resolution depends on the order of MAM. And using the field data, we have shown the effectiveness of proposed method.
