Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Geodetic reference systems, which is the basis of surveying and mapping for describing positions (latitude, longitude, and height) on the Earth, had been defined independently in each nation. On the other hand, world geodetic reference systems have recently been constructed. GPS surveys are carried out refcrring to one of world geodetic systems in many applications, and we may meet problems arising from the inconsisteney between a world geodetic reference system and Tokyo Datum. To solve the (potential) problems, the Geographical Survey Institute (GSI)is preparing the establishment of Geodetic Coordinates 2000, the realization of the new geodetic system of Japan referred to a world geodetic system. |
