Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NASDA(National Space Development Agency of Japan) has been developing two AMSR(Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer);one will be aboard NASDA's ADEOS-II, and the other aboard NASA's EOS-PM-1. AMSRs have characteristics of lower frequencies such as 6 and 10 GHz, and the largest antenna. From AMSR data, total water vapor, total liquid water, precipitation, sea surface wind speed, sea surface temperature, sea ice extent, snow depth, soil moisture will be retrieved, and they will be used in climate research of atmosphere-ocean-land interaction, and in improvement for operational weather forecast.
