A Study on Suppression of Clutter Considering Correlation Characteristics

Abstract(in English) In ASSS(Airport Surface Surveillance System)using ASDE(Airport Surface Detection Equipment), detection of aircraft becomes difficult in bad weather by existence of unnecessary reflection such as rain or snowfall. To improve this adverse effect, we used a 2-dimensional moving average filter which has a proper averaging area size taking the correlation chaaracteristics of the received signal into consideration. This paper describes that a further improvement is achieved by applying the concept of contraction in image processing as the preprocessing before the 2-dimensional moving average.
