Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sophisticated dynamic simulations have become possible with recent rapid advances in computer graphics technologies. In the development of multifunction navigation systems, conventional field driving tests do not allow appropriate fundamental evaluation of the system, and the low efficiency of such field tests affects development time. By using 3D computer graphics technologies, however,we have developed a dynamic visual simulater that automatically generates road data from a navigation system database and displays the views on a screen in front of the driver inside the vehicle. This simulater is available for the evaluation of route guidance function of navigation system.
