Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NASDA has been developing J-I launch vehicle which can carry satellites of around 500kg into the orbit with 500km altitude and 35degree inclination.NASDA plans to use the J-I launch vehicle for the research and development of leading-edge technologies in the fields of satellite communications, earth observations, and others. In the field of satellite communications,NASDA has planed the experiment mission of the optical inter-orbit communication technology, and has studied OICETS system for that mission in JFY 1993.NASDA plans the launch of OICETS is 1998 as the first small satellite launched by the J-I launch vehicle.Through the study of OICETS,the satellite bus has been studied for both the OICETS mission and other future mission, for the small common satellite bus of NASDA.
