Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) National Space Development Agency of Japan(NASDA)has been researching the H-II Orbiting Plane(HOPE).The flight of HOPE consists of several different phases, such as on-orbit,re-entry,and approach & landing. In each phase, the different navigation method is considered to be used.Especially,in the approach & landing phase, the final phase of the HOPE return-back flight, the high precision real time navigation is required. To fulfill this requirement, the hybrid navigation system which combines the IMU data with the data of the other navigation sensors, such as GPS,MLS etc.,is under study. This paper describes the outline of the navigation system of HOPE and the characteristics of the navigation sensors used in this system. The flight navigation test for the approach and landing phase is also presented.
