Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A height monitoring system of aircraft is required for reducing a vertical separation minimum in air traffic control. For realizing this, developing a system for detecting the geometric height of aircraft has been desired. As a geometric height sensor of the system,a height finding radar system composed of two marine radars is proposed. The height estimation accuracy of the proposed system is evaluated by a computer simulation. In this paper, the algorithm based on the curve fitting method for estimating the height of aircraft by using two vertically scanning fan beams is described first. Then, the results of a Monte Carlo simulation are shown.
