Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel position determination method suitable for personal satellite communications systems using non-GSO satellites. The proposed method, which resolves ambiguity of the estimated two positions, i.e. the estimated true position and the falsely aligned position, has a capability to achieve high position detection accuracy by using one non-GSO satellite. The proposed method focuses the constant variation of the sub-satellite point velocity, and resolves the ambiguity of these two estimated positions, existing within the coverage of the same spot beam. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by computer simulation.
