Study of Large Antenna Feed System for S-band Satellite Mobile Communications and Broadcasting System

Abstract(in English) ASC has been developing S-band satellite mobile communications and broadcasting system of the future. One of the developments is a large deployable antenna which has a 10m diameter reflector, and the feed system to generate the multiple beams and contour beam. This paper presents the characteristics of the feed system constructed with the Low Level Beam Forming Network and Hybrid Matrix Amplifier. This feed system developes the antenna performance, but on the other hand this system has some problems caused of its RF characteristic. We describe these problems and the solutions of them. And we also describe that this feed system is able to construct the dual feed system for communications and broadcasting.
