Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Shuttle Imaging Radar-C/X-Band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SIR-C/X-SAR) was flown in April and October 1994 under the collaboration of U.S.A., Germany, and Italy. The SIR-C/X-SAR was the first multi-frequency and multi-polarization imaging radar in space. Communications Research Laboratory made the calibration and ocean observation experiments with the SIR-C/X-SAR around Japan. This report shows preliminary results of the frequency and polarization dependencies observed for the images of artificial slicks.
