Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Engineering Test Satellite VI(ETS-VI) was launched on August 28,1995 from NASDA's Tanegashima Space Center using the H-II launch vehicle. It was regrettably injected into an elliptical orbit due to its apogee engine failure. The satellite, however, established a feeder link with the experiment ground station for approximately two hours evay three days, during its attitude control. Consequently, the S-band intersatellite communication between ETS-VI and NASA's Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS), orbiting around a circular orbit at an altitude of 600km, succeeded for the first time in Japan, following the analysis of the satellite's onboard communication equipments with the dummy satellite station. This report provides the outline and result of this intersatellite communication experiment.
