Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) New archaeological Ground Penetrating Radar survey methods using boreholes are presented. Comparing to the conventional reflection measurement from the ground surface, borehole radar measurement has more survey potential, especially in deep formations. VRP(Vertical Radar Profiling), in which a transmitter is set in a borehole and a receiver on the ground surface is especially effective for this purpose. Field measurement for archaeological structure at Tajiri area (Gunma, Japan) is also reported and the poilarimetric radar measurement is discussed.
