Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors proposed a bistatic imaging method to reconstruct the image of buried conducting object. The validity of this method has been demonstrated theoretically and experimentally. However, this method could not be applied to dielectric underground objects such as the archaeological prospection. Furthermore, this method required huge measurement time because the transmitting and receiving antennas are need to map the ground surface independently. To overcome this difficulty, a new imaging method is proposed in this paper. A new subsurface radar system which consists of a receiving array antenna and digitizing oscilloscope, is also developed. Applicability of this system is discussed using some experiment results performed at Tajiri ruins in Gunma Prefecture.
