Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Microfracturing electrification is suggested as a possible mechanism for explaining ULF electromagnetic emissions observed before and after the earthquakes. Using a simple model of the progression of microfractures and their spatial distribution, it is possible to compare these theoretical explanations with the observational results with reference to the intensity, frequency spectrum and temporal development of ULF magnetic field variations.
