Abstract(in English) Experiments using high altitude long-duration balloons often require a reliable data link from/to the ground station. To extend the period of the balloon experiments, geostationary satellite communication has been used for transmitting the balloon data. A balloon data transmission experiment through the Engineering Test Satellite-5 (ETS-V) was carried out October 18-19, 1994.
