Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A substantial amount of dark line features are observed in the L-band SAR images of the Yucatan Peninsla in Mexico. Some of them seems to be related to ancient roads developed in the Maya Age. Most of the dark linear features are not detected in the optical images, indicating that the L-band SAR may have detected roads covered by vegetation. This study aims to derive a quantitative way for judging whether the linear features could be related to roads covered by vegetation. An effective linear feature detection algorithm, which traces connected dark pixels successively, has been developed.
