Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Utilization of GPS has being spread widely into various areas. Many people have actually felt the convenience through some devices embedded by the GPS receiver nearby them. At this moment, the utilization only depend on GPS, however, we have a movement to study the system scheme of the next generation of the navigation satellite system in order to establish an international collaboration of the navigation satellite systems which would become a kind of social infrastructure. Then, it is introduced here a unique navigation and communication satellite system which consists of high inclined geostationary satellites and would be a discussion subject for the next generation one. The activities in Europe on the system are also described.
