Abstract(in English) | Wideband (20,000Hz to 0.0002Hz) magnetotelluric (MT) observations have been conducted in the central part of Tohoku district, northeastern Japan to investigate the deep resistivity structure for a better understanding of the mechanisms of earthquake occurrence and volcanic activity in the subduction region. MT data are obtained on the three east-west MT transects which are separated by 20km. To get reliable results, we conducted two dimensional modeling. We also conducted Groom-Bailey decomposition method and transient electromagnetic method (TEM) to reject the effects of the surface inhomogenuity. |
