Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A radar technique, especially borehole radar, is expected applicable to mineral exploration because of full advantage of its high resolution. The applicability was studied using the results from in-situ GPR test in the Hishikari gold mine where is a typical epithermal gold deposit. Reflection wave of quartz veins bearing gold was detected in the calculated radargram easily. But, it was difficult for them to be distinguished from many reflection waves of drift walls, protecting metal nets and other kinds of artificial product in observed radargram. It was supposed that the dry circumstances in the gold mine could weaken reflection waves of quartz veins. It is suggested that more in-situ test using borehole radar under ground water table is required.
