3-Dimensional Tracking Method With Multiple Passive Sensors

Abstract(in English) This paper presents a method to track a target moving in 3-dimensional space using 2-dimensional angle (azimuth and elevation) measurements from multiple passive sensors. The conventional triangulation method needs the simultaneous observations of the moving target, and cannot be used when the sensors observe the target asynchronously. In the proposed method, we firstly track the target's angle at two of sensors locally. The angle tracks are adjusted in time after a given time passed, and fused to form full 3D track. Once the 3D track is formed, we begin the process of 3D tracking filter at the central level. In this process, we update the 3D track whenever a new observation is obtained from any of the multiple sensors. The proposed method can be performed even when the sensors observe the target asynchronously. The simulation results are given.
