Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, wireless-LAN-based indoor communications draw attention due to their high-speed performance. However, in practice, the area where the wireless-LAN can cover is limited because of obstacles such as walls. On the other hand, the transmission rate of power-line communication is lower than that of wireless-LAN, but relatively wider range can be covered. In this paper, the coverage area of the wireless-LAN and power-line-LAN and their effective transmission rate are measured in indoor environments, i.e., an elementary school and a wooden house.
