Abstract(in English) This paper describes a cost-effective configuration of Large ATM cross-connects.We propose the delta network with expanded middle stages,which is a particular configuration of the generalized delta network.In the ATM switching network,the inner blocking occurs by temporary imbalance of the input traffic.To derive the inner blocking probability,we establish the model which describes the temporary imbalance of the input traffic.By using this model, we derive the minimum expansion ratio so that the inner blocking probability of the proposed network is acceptable.This configuration does not have the nonblocking property,but it is realized with very small hardware cost and acceptable small inner blocking probability.Therefore,it is effective in constructing the large ATM cross-connects in the framework of the B-ISDN.
