Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new coding technique, termed "Region Support DCT", for an arbitrary shape coding. The technique is based on the conventional two-dimensional DCT, and, therefore, the decoding process is achieved by the conventional one as it is. The technique outperforms other techniques for arbitrary shape coding, such as SA-DCT.
