Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Lossless (reversible) image coding is one of the key compaction technique for high definition image data such as medical images and art works. It is desirable to obtain a down-scaled image of original image by expanding a part of compressed data. This functionality called"scalability"can be widely used in data base applications. This paper proposes a new compaction technique(lossless coding)having the scalability based on multi channel non separable 2D filter bank. This filter bank has a flexibitity of choosing prediction coefficients(weight values). Criteria for the lossless coding is presented to choose the coefficients.
