Abstract(in English) | A new type of linear-phase perfect-reconstruction QMF system is proposed. The QMF bank is based on half-band filters so that it has lower complexity than the known QMF systems, with a comparable performance. It is shown that the new PR QMF system achieves all the required perfect reconstruction conditions, in addition that all its analysis and synthesis filters are linear phase. Unlike the other types of QMF banks, which require very involved (nonlinear) filter optimization techniques, the proposed QMFs can be easily designed using any of the conventional filter design techniques. For realization, its polyphase architecture is derived, which has very simple structure. |
