Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We examine the present status, current problems, and future directions of radar observation of space debris, which has widely been recognized as a serious environmental problem in the space. After briefly overviewing the operational and experimentlal observations such as the US SPACECOM network, possible techniques for the shape estimation, which is one of the most important issues in radar observation of space debris, are compared. Finally the required capabilities of the future debris radars together with the construction plan for such radars in Japan are presented.
