Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The multi-compartment model of the granule cell in the hippocampal dentate gyrus developed by Aradi and Holmes was reduced to a single compartment model. The single-compartment model well reproduces the action potential and the depolarized after potential (DAP) observed in the experiments. Repetitive firing caused by a dc current injection is also well reproduced. The granule cell model causes phase-locking and irregular response to periodic stimulation, those response were summarized in a phase diagram. Moreover, a neural network model of the dentate gyrus was developed using 100 granule cell and one inhibitory interneuron, basket cell. The network model well responds to the signal whose frequency is less than 15Hz and causes only one initial action potential to the signal whose frequency is greater than 2OHz. In other words, the dentate gyrus model has a feature of low-path filter
