Bifurcation in Coupled BVP Oscillators

Abstract(in English) BVP oscillator is the simplest mathematical model describing a. neural activity. However, even if two BVP oscillators are merely compled by a linear element, the whole system exhibits complicated behavior. For studying such coupled system, identical oscillators are often used as an oscillator unit since symmetrical properties sometimes reduce the bifurcation problem about equilibria and periodic soltions. In this paper, we analyze a coupled BVP oscillators with asymmetrical coupling structure, besides, each oscillator has different internal registance. We should the whole four-dimensional system, but the system shows strange attractors. We calculate bifurcation diagrams and confirm relevant phenomena in the laboratory experiments. Furthermore, we try to reduce the system dimension by removing passive and active elements.
