Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is shown that the Shortley-Weller (S-W) five point finite difference formula is applicable to Dirichlet problems in any shaped domain, for example, a domain obtained by removing some small disks from a disk and gives sharp results. In fact, the S-W formula with the mesh size h has the O(h^3) accuracy at every grid point near the boundary even if the truncation error is O(h).
