Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The "Game of Life" exhibits some interesting patterns and a universal computer can be constructed on Life. On the other hand, the temporal behavior of Life exhibits 1/f power spectrum. We have investigated the relation between array size and maximum length of time over which a 1/f power spectrum is observed in Life. We find that the maximum length of time gets longer in L×L lattices where L is a multiple of 400. The result indicates that there exists a intrinsic size of array in Life and suggests a similarity between the temporal behavior of Life and critical slowing down in phase transitions.
